Flint Hills Publications Workshop Policies
- Substitutions of the same sex will be accepted up to three weeks before the workshop by calling Collegian Media Group at 785-370-6355. No refunds will be given for cancellations after the early registration deadline.
- Alcohol, smoking, or drug or weapon possession are strictly forbidden.
- Workshop participants must follow all local, state and federal laws. All participants must also follow all Kansas State University policies.
- Email is used extensively to communicate with students and parents prior to the workshop. Please be sure to provide valid and regularly checked email addresses on the registration form.
- Students must abide by all workshop curfews.
- Students are not allowed to operate vehicles during workshops. Contact Daren Lee Lewis at 785-370-6354 or Hallie Everett at heverett@collegianmedia.com. if you plan to have a car on campus during the workshop.
- Each course will have a series of tasks and assignments that students will be expected to complete.
- Students must attend all classes unless ill. Illnesses must immediately be reported to the workshop director.
- Students should act as ambassadors of their schools and communities, and they should follow all school rules and policies while at the workshop.
- Failure to abide by workshop policies or directions from workshop staff/instructors is grounds for dismissal from the workshop without refund of registration fees.
- Participants and parents/legal guardians agree to hold Collegian Media Group, Kansas State University, their employees, trustees, officers, volunteers and agents harmless from any claims, damages, losses and/or expenses arising out of participation in workshop activities and to assume all liability for any and all personal injury, bodily injury, illness or property damage that occurs as a result of participation in such workshop activities. Registration and participation in the Flint Hills Publications Workshop is voluntary.
- It is imperative that all student participants in the workshop are covered by health insurance for the term of the their attendance. In addition, the participant and his/her parent/legal guardian agree to give Collegian Media Group and its representatives permission to provide emergency medical response and/or treatment as needed for any injury or illness that may occur while the participant is involved in workshop activities and agree to release Collegian Media Group and its representatives from all liability arising out of such treatment. In case of medical emergency, the participant or his/her parent/legal guardian will be fully responsible for all expenses.
- Participants and parents/legal guardians also give permission for photographs and/or video to be taken during the activities at the workshop. These images and video will remain the property of Collegian Media Group and may be used in publications and marketing campaigns for future workshops.
