Preparing for Camp/Things to Know about FHPW

When do I arrive at camp?

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2025. Please arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. as registration will end at 9 a.m.

Classroom Supplies
- Make sure to bring typical school supplies. A notebook, writing utensils, etc…
- With our camp’s digital footprint growing each year, it’s highly suggested to bring some kind of laptop or mobile computer that you can use to take notes on or work on track assignments. Computers are suggested for all strands at the Flint Hills Publications Workshop.
- Many of the sessions will be working out of computer labs. Bringing files on a USB flash drive would be most helpful. Also, you’ll want to have the drive to store files to take back with you. If you are a Leadership strand student, we suggest trying to bring your own computer for camp if possible.
- Photographers-bring a camera and the gear you normally use during a photo assignment at school. Design track students-bring 3-5 magazines per student to help with design inspiration.
- Copies of your school’s publications-newspapers, news magazines, and even your yearbook!
- AP stylebook is suggested for the Writing and Reporting and Leadership courses.
- Folder to bring home supplies/documents and handouts you may receive during camp.
